10.1 Inch 1280x800 IPS TFT LCD Module with Capacitive Touch MIPI - VXTA10BXH-01C
The VXTA10BXH-01C is a 10.1-inch 1280x800 TFT with an integrated capacitive touch panel, driven over 4-lane MIPI DSI. Against our 10.4-inch 800x600 module it carries 2.1 times the pixels through 35% fewer pins — 39 instead of 60, and 32 functional instead of 43 — because four differential pairs move the whole image. Touch is on the module with an FT5426, so there is no separate flex to route. The backlight has PWM in and PWM out, so dimming is handled on the module rather than in your firmware. It is 16:10 at 150 PPI, anti-glare, with 80° viewing in all four directions and no gray scale inversion — together the signature of an IPS cell. Contrast is 700 minimum. The document has real problems, listed here: an active-area figure that does not reconcile, a touch controller with no I2C pins, and a brightness figure with no minimum.

PWMI and PWMO: dimming handled for you
Most modules leave backlight dimming entirely to the host: you generate a PWM and feed the LED driver. This one has a dedicated pair — you feed PWMI in, and the timing controller produces PWMO out to drive your LED driver.
That matters more than it sounds. Dimming is one of the things that gets bolted on late and behaves badly: too-low a frequency and it beats against the camera or the eye, too-coarse a duty step and the panel flickers at low brightness, and a naive implementation lets the backlight surge at power-up. Having the timing controller generate the output means the duty step, the frequency and the ramp are the panel designer's problem rather than yours. Feed it a duty cycle and let it handle the rest.
Confirm the expected PWMI frequency and polarity with us before layout — the specification names the pins but does not give the timing.
What is genuinely strong in the reliability data
Against that, two figures are unusually good:
- ESD at 15 kV air and 8 kV contact — roughly double our 10.4-inch module's 8 kV and 4 kV. Contact discharge at 8 kV is a serious figure for a panel people touch.
- Mechanical shock at 200 G for 2 ms, against 60 G for 6 ms on the 10.4-inch module — and 100 thermal shock cycles against 20.
Given that this module has an integrated touch panel, the high ESD rating is coherent rather than incidental: the part designed to be touched is the part specified to survive it.
