The VXT397IWI-01P is a 3.97-inch 480 x 800 portrait TFT LCD module with a 4-wire resistive touch panel, and the touch is what distinguishes it from the other 480 x 800 panel in this size.Resistive sensing responds to pressure rather than to a finger's conductivity, so it works with gloves, wet hands, a stylus or a tool tip, which is why it is still the choice for industrial and medical equipment. The optical table is also unusually well specified: luminance carries a stated minimum of 240 and a stated maximum of 420 alongside the 300 typical, and contrast carries a 300 minimum, so there are figures you can hold us to at incoming inspection - which is not the case on several modules in this size. Two things need settling before you commit. This is a TN panel: the specification states a 6 o'clock viewing direction, grey-scale inversion at 12 o'clock, and vertical viewing angles of 50 degrees one way and 25 the other, so mounting orientation has a right answer - if your product is handheld and the orientation is not under your control, the IPS panel also in this size is the better buy.

The VXT430PNO-01 is a 4.3-inch TFT LCD module at 480 x 272, The specification states the recommended viewing direction as ALL and names the technology as MVA, gives 80 degrees in all four directions, and leaves the grey-scale inversion direction blank - three consistent signals that mean there is no wrong way to mount it. On a TN panel a preferred direction and an inversion direction are stated, and a unit mounted where the operator looks up at it can land on the wrong side; here that decision disappears. The frame buffer is 255 KB, small enough that a microcontroller with 512 KB of internal SRAM needs no external RAM at all. Luminance is 280 minimum against 350 typical and 420 maximum, so there is a floor to hold us to and a ceiling that shows the spread. The backlight is twelve LEDs in six series strings of two, at 19.2 V and 40 mA drawing 0.768 W, with 30,000 hours minimum life. Reliability runs nine tests at 240 hours including vibration, ESD and an MTBF of 50,000 hours. Two cautions.

The VXT430GWH-02 is a 4.3-inch IPS TFT module in portrait orientation: 480 x 800 pixels over an active area of 56.16 x 93.60 mm, taller than wide, with a diagonal of 4.2975 inches. It is the only portrait module and the only IPS module in our 4.3-inch range. Being IPS means viewing angle is 80° typical in all four directions with no preferred direction and no gray scale inversion to design around — decide orientation on mechanical grounds alone. Pixel pitch is 0.117 mm square, giving 217 PPI, so small text stays legible and circular graphics need no correction. It runs 24-bit RGB over a 42-pin connector driven by an HX8369A, with a serial port on the same connector for configuration. Brightness is 310 minimum, 350 typical and 390 maximum cd/m² — the lowest in the family and intended for indoor and handheld use, published as a complete range you can design and inspect against. At 2.15 mm it is also the thinnest 4.3-inch module we offer.

The VXT430MPIA-03C is a 4.3-inch TFT module with a five-point capacitive touch panel bonded on: a 480 x 272 RGB display and an I2C touch controller in one assembly. What sets it apart is practical rather than headline — this is the 4.3-inch module whose power you can actually budget, because it publishes a logic current of 22 mA where the sibling module rated identically leaves it as TBD. Total draw is about 0.67 W, the lowest of any 4.3-inch module we offer with touch. It is also unusually complete on the touch side: accuracy of ±1.5 mm at the centre and ±2.5 mm at the edge, surface hardness of at least 7H, and transparency of at least 85% are all given as numbers. Contrast is 800:1 minimum with 80° viewing in all four directions. Two things need attention before ordering, and both are stated here: the module matches a sibling part on every comparable figure apart from the driver IC, and its reliability programme is shorter than the rest of the range.

The CTP-T430GF-04 is a 4.3-inch capacitive touch panel in G+G construction, sized for 480x272 displays and matched to the 95.84 x 54.66 mm view area of our 4.3-inch TFT module. It runs from two rails — VDD at 2.8–3.3 V and IOVCC at a fixed 3.3 V — and its 10-pin FPC puts VDD on pin 10 rather than pin 2.
